Grammy's Visit

Since Jim had a week long training class in Raleigh, my mom flew in for a few days to help me out. I have been sick as a dog, so needless to say, I was very grateful for her arrival. We managed to squeeze in some fun too.

They had a little petting zoo with goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and a pony.

We went on a tracker pulled hayride through the pumpkin patches. Can you believe they grow 15 different types of pumpkins? So cool.

Grammy did most of the holding and carrying since my pregnant belly

didn't leave much sitting room for the Ellie Belly.

I'll take that one. Cutest pumpkin in the place.

Ellie loved the kiddie hay maze.

First pony ride. So glad Grammy got to be a part of it.

We may have an equestrian in our future.

In the end, the whole trip was a success. Only wish it could have lasted longer.

A little ketchup

Ellie's 18 month check up. She was 50% for height & 5% for weight. Still has a big head, but we love her anyway ;-)

We went to Ikea a few weeks ago and brought this gem back. We have moved it to the bedroom and use it as a reading nook adorned with pillows and blankets.

This is the table and chairs I ordered from Costco. Couldn't find a better deal and free shipping. Ellie LOVES it and spends most of her time coloring or hosting a tea party.

What we've been up to...

Our morning trip to the Atlanta Aquarium with Sarah and daughter, Avery. The girls were so good, which is amazing for Ellie. She loved the live dolphin show and all the fish. Maybe next year she will be tall enough to play on all the jungle equipment and touch the sea creatures in the open pools. All in all, a great trip. I recommend getting there early to beat the crowds.

Stone Mountain, GA

Since Jim's parents were in town for the weekend, we decided to checkout some of the sites. Stone Mountain is both a historical monument and a family theme park.

Two BIG firsts this week

I let Ellie color for the first time today. I was surprised she already knew how to hold the crayons. It is finally starting to feel like things are speeding up.

Other firsts: 
- Bought her first pair of BIG kid tennis shoes yesterday. They look just like adult shoes but with velcro.
- Can almost walk up the stairs by herself. Still needs to hold our hand since she those are big steps for er little legs.
- Walks around the house holding my old cellphone and pretending to chat with a friend.
